In case of any miscalculation in the PT, kindly ensure you follow the below checklist and to correct the same and reprocess the salary.
- For the physically handicapped employees, enable the option “Physically Challenged” from the employee profile page to ensure they are excluded for the PT calculation.
- The director of the company is also excluded from the PT calculation so enable the option “is director” from the employee profile page.
- Check if the employee is senior citizen since the senior citizen PT should be calculated as zero also, senior citizen cap differs from state to state.
- Ensure the location is mapped and the gross salary is updated for the newly joined employees and update the new location for relocated employees.
- In case of any new location is added in the system make sure you map the PT state for the new location...finally...
- Check the state specific PT rule. For example, in Maharashtra state PT first slab is not applicable for female employees.
