greytHR enables you to generate the Form 16 statutory document easily and plan its activities in a phased manner. To do so, you need to set certain required values in greytHR before you proceed with your first Form 16 generation.
The prerequisites to generating a Form 16 from greytHR are:
Set as per requirement in System Settings for Form 16. Ensure the Form 16 signatory details are entered.
- Select Form 16 Admin in System > User Administration > User Roles > admin > Tools.
- Ensure all or selected employees have PAN and email entered in greytHR.
- Download the Form 16 Part A files of your employees from TRACES.
- Save the downloaded files as a zip file in the format of PAN+Year Range such as AAAPP3230D_2013-14. The PAN of the employee should be available in greytHR.
Set the Financial Year in the Form 16 page as one year preceding the Assessment Year such that if AY is 2013-14 then select FY as 2012-13 from the date drop-down list in the Form 16 landing page or the Part A or Part B pages.
If mandatory settings are not done, an error message will display. Click Change Settings in the main Form 16 page to access > Income Tax > Form 16 Options. In System Settings, click Back to Form 16 to come back to the Form 16 landing page.
